Thank you for visiting the Website of the Conference Executive Secretary.
The Conference Executive Secretary has several responsibilities. One of them is the chief record keeper for the conference. The Secretary keeps the records of the minutes of the meetings of the Conference Executive Committee, the personnel records for the nearly 200 employees of the conference and other such records. He (though in some conferences, the “he” is a “she”) is also responsible for organizing most of the major meetings of the conference, e.g. Constituency Meeting, Campmeeting, Church Officers Convention, etc. He chairs the Constitution and Bylaws Committee and is the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee. Currently, he serves as the Human Resources Director. He is also the liaison between the conference and its attorneys.
Having told you a little about what I do, please allow me to tell you a little about me: I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the second of 4 children. I am a proud product of, and a fervent believer in, Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education, having spent virtually all of my education life, from grade school to grad school, in Seventh-day Adventist Schools.
For the past 29 and one half years, I have had the wonderful privilege of being a Seventh-day Adventist minister. I have been even more blessed to have spent all but 4 months of those 29 years married to the former Jill Robinson, a South Central native, from Lexington, Kentucky. The Lord has blessed us with 2 adult children, Mrs. Courtney Edmond Campbell and R.J. Additionally, we have 3 grandchildren.
I love sports, I am a “little” competitive ( o.k., I am very competitive-I hate losing) and I love to read. You might be surprised to know that I am learning to cook and what little I know how to do, I enjoy!
I am very ably assisted in this office by the Administrative Assistant to the Conference Executive Secretary, Mrs. Margaret Weathers. She has worked here for 6 years now; no one is any better at what they do in this building than Margaret.
It is my privilege to serve the 33,000 members in the approximately 150 churches of this storied conference. At the beginning of each month, I shall try to give you a thumbnail sketch of the things that are happening in the conference that involve my office.
Thanks for stopping by!
