The Huntsville Association of Retired Adventist Workers (HARAW) recently launched the “Second Responders Prayer Ministry”. HARAW President William Parks and Dr. Clarence E. Hodges, Second Responders Coordinator and Communications chairperson, announced that this ministry, sponsored by HARAW, is open for all persons interested in praying for suffering humanity.
This prayer initiative was organized in response to recent floods, mudslides, tornados, kidnapping of children, mass murders, earthquakes, and other disasters in the United States and other parts of the world. Prayers ascend from the Second Responders in response to information from first responders (police, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel). President Parks and Hodges stressed the need for much prayer in support of the immediate victims, their families, helpers, and first responders who put their lives in danger seeking to save lives and property of others.
This prayer group prays individually, daily, and periodically together on telephone conference calls. Those who wish to be a part of this ministry, of any faith and location, may request inclusion by contacting the Oakwood University Church prayer line at 256-837-1255, extension 4. This is a worldwide ministry serving God’s disaster-suffering children worldwide. In addition to praying for suffering humankind, prayers are always needed for God’s people to live the love of Christ as did the “Good Samaritan” and as taught by Christ in Matthew 25:31-46 and John 17:20-23.
