CAMPS

"Fun in the Sun" Camp
JULY 1-7 Ages 6-17
Come check out our new Camp this year.  This camp is for everyone from the ages of 6-17.  We're taking a trip down the Ocoee River.  You don't want to miss this thrillling adventure.  It is a total contrast from the Hiawassee River.  Swimming lessons will be taught on all different levels.  Get specialized training from an instructor.  Our theme for this years' banquet cruise will be the "A touch of Italy."  Come wearing your black, gold, green and red as we experience a taste of the Italian way.  Check the internet and history book to come up with your unique style.  Prizes and gifts will be given away and, of course, the best entertainment will be provided.  The pastor of the week will be Pastor Seth Yelorde. Sign up now and catch the pre-registration or early biry special  rate.
There is an additional $25.00 for the Ocoee River Rafting Trip.  Please call for more information and come prepared to pay this fee if interested.

The camper who has 5 friends sign up for the camp and sends in all 5 friends application including the $50 deposit fee with each application will come to camp for FREE!

Here is how it works: you find friends that want to come to camp and have them fill out their application and attach their $50 registration fee with it then you send in their applications along with your application and we will mark your application "PAID IN FULL" for one week of the Camp Thunderbird 2005 experience! Make sure you send them in before May 31, 2005.

Friendship Camp
July 8-13 Ages 7-16
A special camp for inner city youth who want to have the thrill of a life time.  A special discounted rate has been arragned for you to enjoy the great outdoors.  Experience nature by floating down the Ocoee River.  This whitewater journey will leave you breathless as you ride these su0per waves.  Swimming lessons, canoeing, arts and crafts, soccer and other fun activities are waiting for you.  Pastor Steve Ruff will bring dynamic messages at worship time.  You will never forget his vivid presentations.  Get ready for high spiritual praise and worship service.  Whatever you do  "Don't Miss Out On the Acton!"  Whatever you do know that it's going to be "Majoy Baby".

Latino Camp
June 28-July 3   Ages 7-17
Hey Young People!
We are excited to announce our first Latino Camp.  This camp is designed to reach our Latino family in our conference.  We have exciting programming, powerul preaching and melodious singing planned for this weekend.  The activities will be enriching and fun; the games will be out of this world; not to mention the food!  Join us for our first Latino camp at Camp Thunderbird.


Music Camp
July 15-21   Ages 7-17
Come join in the fun of making music for Jesus Christ with renowned Christian artist musicaian extraordinaire Wayne Bucknor of Madison Mission SDA Church.  It's Music Camp!  You heard it right, music camp for the musically inclined.  Learn how to sing with others and play instruments to the glory of God.  If you play any instrument or sing at all then music camp is for you.  So bring your instrument, your voice and your spirit of praise and God will do the rest.  Our camp pastor will be Pastor Alfozo Green III.


Super Sports Camp
July 22-28 Ages 7-17
Hey Young People!
Sports Camp is bigger and better this year. Our Pastor for the week is Pastor Wayne Hewlett. Plan now to sign up for one of the four special classes for the week.

Basketball
Is your game in need of help? Do you want to develop better basketball skills while receiving expert instruction? Then you will not want to miss this! During this week you will drive down the court, dribble through the defense and score those crucial baskets. Due to popular demand, if your skills are advanced a special track has been programmed for you. Sign up for a week with Sandy Smith (former NBA player) and other instructors.


Aquatics
Make a splash and join our swimming experts! Earn your Beginning, Advanced, and Intermediate swimming certificate and AY honor. These courses are taught by certified water safety instructors, under the capable leadership of Terry Hamilton, the swimming instructor at Oakwood University.


Waterskiing
Hey Kids! For the sixth year we have waterskiing at Camp Thunderbird! Come and be a part of this new and exciting feature of our sports camp. Learn how to water-ski from our experienced and certified skiing instructors. Enjoy the waves, the splash and the thrill of cruising over the lake on your skis, riding in the speed boat, tubing and other weather sports. Our certified instructors are Jamie Roddy Gray and Carrie Roddy.


Gymnastics
Come and learn beginning skills in this exciting area. Learn tumbling skills and experience the teamwork needed for human tower building. Your week of camp will culminate in a gymnastic show on Saturday night. Gymnastics is going to be an exciting program planned for you. Joy Peifer will be returning this year with another outstanding program. Please bring with you work out clothes which could include pants with no zippers, buttons or belt loops. For the program on Saturday night you will need black shorts that come to the knee.
