The religious liberty leader in a local church serves as a promoter, communication link, and grassroots contact with the conference for religious liberty issues. Due to our understanding of how end-time events will impact our religious freedoms, it is important to have a network of individuals who are monitor, and alert members of specific court actions and new releases.

The responsibilities of the religious liberty leader may include the following:

1. To promote the circulation of Liberty: a magazine of religious freedom” and other religious liberty-related literature.

2. To advise church members concerning matters affecting religious liberty in the local area.

3. To organize and stimulate religious liberty meetings and programs as circumstances require.

4. To work with the pastor in aiding individuals who are experiencing problems involving religious liberty.

Often the religious liberty leader is responsible to the personal ministries leader and/or committee. Each church should configure this according to what works best for them.

Ways to Promote Religious Liberty

Here are some ideas for promoting religious liberty in your community:

a) Plan a special Sabbath for religious liberty awareness and invite pastors from other church part in your program.

b) Invite a special guests speaker (your Conference or Union Religious Liberty Director) to come and share a spiritual message along with updates.

c) Arrange for religious liberty radio spots to be aired on a local radio station.

d) Send Liberty magazine to area pastors, judges, and attorneys. Also buy a subscription for your local library.
